Welcome to Matchatree 🌱🍵

Years ago, I spent a season in Finland planting trees to make some extra money. The work was tough, but deeply rewarding — by the end of that 3-months season I had planted over 100,000 saplings. Even though the days were long and back-breaking, the feeling of contributing to something that makes oxygen and would grow for decades was priceless.

Fast forward to today. I work in IT and take on side projects that catch my curiosity, but I kept thinking back to that season in the forest. I wanted to do something similar here in Lithuania — to buy land and plant trees. Maybe it could become a community type of thing, or perhaps a forest that thrives 20–30 years from now. Either way, I wanted it to be something lasting.

One morning, while enjoying my cup of matcha, two things connected in my mind:

Matcha and Tree planting.

That’s how Matchatree was born.

I am sourcing 8 different samples of premium matcha (yes, the really good stuff — think ~€100/kg). After many taste testing, I’ll be offering only the highest quality I can find. The idea is simple: you get delicious, energizing matcha, and 15% of the profits go directly into planting trees right here in Lithuania.

But this isn’t just about tea or trees. I want to build a community brand. I imagine gatherings, festivals, hikes, and spaces where people can connect over nature and wellbeing. This blog — along with our Instagram and future YouTube channel ( to be soon:) ) — will be where I share updates: from  matcha, to tree-planting, to the small steps we take along the way.

Thank you for being here at the very beginning. Every order, every sip, every shared idea helps bring Matchatree to life.

Here’s to growing forests, together. 🌳🍵
